SHEA Training

Who is the awarding body for SHEA?

The EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register) is an online skills and training register for those working in the energy and utilities sector. You must have completed and passed an EUSR training and assessment to be added to the EUSR registry.

What does SHEA stand for and what is it?

SHEA stands for Safety Health & Environmental Awareness. The SHEA suit of schemes has been developed to provide the utilities sector with a consistent approach to health, safety and environmental awareness.

What is SHEA additional and how does it work?

The “Additional” SHEA option allows you to add additional SHEA courses to an existing registration. For example, if you hold an EUSR registration under the SHEA Core course and would like to complete SHEA Water training just choose the SHEA Water Additional option as you have already covered the essential, core modules that apply to every SHEA suite.

How long does SHEA registration last?

You will be awarded SHEA EUSR registration upon successful completion of the course and assessment. SHEA Gas registration lasts for 5 years while all other schemes last for 3 years (Power, Water, Waste & resources, Cross Country Pipelines, Telecommunications, Drains & Sewers and Core).

As your training provider, we will submit your assessment details to EUSR for registration. You will receive a physical registration card.

Why should I get EUSR trained and registered?

Enhance your awareness of on-site safety; prevent accidents and become better equipped to handle emergencies on-site. Improve your desirability and hireability! Extra qualifications are a huge plus when applying for jobs showing your prospective employer that you are committed to workplace safety.

EUSR registration grants you access to controlled sites that you otherwise would not have access to without registration.

If you are looking to verify your skills as a utilities or energy worker, obtaining EUSR registration will support you in doing just that!

Who is the SHEA training course designed for?

For those requiring EUSR registration to access controlled sites within the energy and utilities sector. This includes engineers, technicians and fitters for the gas, water, electricity/power and telecommunications sectors.

The scheme is designed for those wishing to gain permanent or temporary access to controlled operational sites, applied to all levels of workers.
